In August 2003 the British Stainless Steel Association (BSSA) launched
the first of its IVOX based CPD presentations 'An Introduction to
Stainless Steel'. In the first month alone this online CPD presentation
was watched over 200 times! The feedback has been extremely positive,
here is a typical example:
As a dedicated sole practitioner this is the first kind of CPD that
makes sense! ALL CPD SHOULD BE LIKE THIS. A day's seminar with costs,
travel and loss of time is equivalent to £600+ and usually
completely useless.

From receiving the PowerPoint presentation and audio at ICON, it
was only a matter of days before it was online. The slides were
extracted from the presentation and an audio file was created that
also contained the slide change timings. The IVOX website was then
configured to accept the new presentation and the email address
of a representative of the BSSA was used to allow usage statistics
to be emailed to the BSSA.
As part of the IVOX CPD package, the BSSA were given a link that
gives direct access to the presentation. This was added to their
website and also on the website of the Canadian Nickel Development
Institute who have a close affiliation with the BSSA. Once the presentation
was online all IVOX users that had asked to receive newsletters
relating to online CPD were emailed announcing the new presentation.
