Update July 2011: The ICON System now holds two and a half million files.
News, December 2010
ICON System holds in excess of two million Files
Every month we analyse the usage stats for each client's implementation of the ICON System. We then total the figures, work out averages and then report the changes in trends back to our clients.
Examples of tracked statistics are...
-
Number of active companies and users
-
Number of logins
-
Number of projects held in the system
-
The quantity and size of files held in the system
-
Amount of file downloads
...and in November 2010 the total number of files held in the ICON System exceeded two million!
The ICON System is charged for on a license basis. All clients have access to the whole system and the regular updates it receives. The license structure is very similar to a mobile phone tariff where you choose an appropriate package based upon so many minutes, texts, mb or etc..
With the ICON System, the cost of the license is based upon five indicators which reflect the amount of information held in the system as well as the level of usage. These indicators are:
-
Number of data items held in the system (dates, facts, figures, etc.)
-
Total size of files stored in the system
-
Number of page views (a monthly average)
-
The amount of data transferred (xfer) as a result of file downloads (a monthly average)
-
The number of specification items held in the system (i.e. equipment, finishes, policy pages, etc).
It is also worth pointing out here that the charging structure has been created so that the more a client uses the system, the proportionally cheaper it becomes.
